This is a story of forget-me-nots
Of things I learned but was not taught
And all I'm asking
Is for you to hear
Me
A quiet room and sullen...
When you told me
To grow up, I thought you meant,
"Kill your heart." And so I did.
Dutifully, plugged the tears until I suffocated.
Cussed...
When you walk in,
You hide your fear,
You fist your hands
And hold your tears
Embittered by the consequence
Of things you can't control...
