#YOWO - The Pathway of Knowledge Leads to College

Typically first impressions make an impact,

But what happened to 'don't judge a book by it's cover'?

Whenever we pass someone on campus, what do we see?

We see Ray Bans, Toms or Nike,

Yet we miss their origin of a broken family.

If we go off of face value, we're still blind.

People have issues, problems and difficulties 99% of the time.

So don't just assume everyone is okay,

Smile, laugh, joke, just try and make their day.

Because although education is a priviledge that I don't take for granted,

Sometimes we need to help others out so they don't regret being planted,

In a place of fertile knowledge and opportunity.

Although the benefits outweight the doubts, it's hard when you're just starting out.

Stress can eat away at the roots that are trying to grow deeper.

Often enough people settle for a pathway that's cheaper.

I understand that thought, but I have chosen to make my stand,

Even if I have to reach out for a helping hand.

I WILL be the first of family to graduate college,

However finances are something I have to acknowledge.

I desire to help other students out not only with their grades,

But even with their hidden, emotional crusades.

Making a difference is what I'm about,

Every student deserves the chance to sprout.
