You know how good it feels

To have a license in your palm, your hand on the wheel

There’s no parent to guide you, you’re on your own

It never felt so good to be alone

You speed on the road, you text and drive

You tell yourself, “I’ve never felt this alive.”

You know you shouldn’t, but you don’t care

You like the feeling that’s in the air

You don’t use signals, you don’t stop at signs

Your friends warn, but you’ll be just fine

You make it home safe every day and night

But one day, something is going to happen where everything won’t be alright

You never get caught, this much is true

But you don’t have to get caught in order for something bad to happen to you

While looking at that text, you could bang and crash

You think you’ll see it coming, but it’s as quick as a flash

Now you’re hurt or dead with nothing to do

Your loved ones are crying over the problem that was caused by you

Did you know that safe drivers get into accidents too?

And most of the time, it’s because of people like you
