You'll Only Ever Have One Good Friend

I want it,

but I don’t.

I want to go for it,

but I won’t.

I see it,

but not clearly.

I dream it,

but it isn’t true.

My friend told me.

I  want to be successful,

but I  don’t know  how.

“Soon we’ll  be 30 years  old,

our songs have been sold.

We’ve travelled around the world and we’re still roaming.”

Or so it is sung in full truth.

Not True.

My  friend told me.

But soon we’ll be 60 years old!

I must act now

or it will be too late!

I am going for it.

My friend told me not to.

I ignore them

and soon I am there.

Following the song quote:

“Once I was 7 years old, my  momma told me go make yourself some friends or you’ll be lonely.”

Not sure who my true friends are.

They’ve  told me lies.

Know  who  your true friends are

or you won’t be successful

in life.
