You Were Just a Game

Thu, 08/04/2016 - 15:42 -- NIckyG

I was as innocent as a newborn child
Grew up surrounded by the worst
No idea why,
I lost track of the cruelty of the world while being around you
I can't lie
I thought my life was great
Until I met you
And you gave me a new light
To live upon
Soon I realized it was all just a game for you
Soon I realized I was being played cheaper than monopoly
Soon I realized that love can't possibly exist
Not for me
Forgive and forget
Forgive your mistakes
Forgive our past
Forgive your flaws
Forgive your sarcasm
But I will never
Forget your beautiful smile
Your shining eyes
Your loud laughter
Forget your warm hugs
Forget your soft lips and
Your goofiness
But one must know
Moving on is not to forget
My love for you was invincible
But I seemed to be invisible
Till I was done with it
Now you see me
Now I'm gone
But truth is I'm no longer there
I am gone and she's just a reflection
Now you're alone and I am perfection
