You Get Three Wishes

I remember the days when I wanted to be a firefighter
And I remember when that transitioned into being a heroic vampire
I asked for three wishes
And I just wanted three minutes, but my star only wanted friendship
I want to be rich and famous so I can make up for the lack of things I didn't accomplished
I was very squeamish when God forced me to listen to broken reason
I got pushed away from Earth's Heavenly gates by a weakness that I developed in the fall season
I asked for three wishes
And I never believed in Genies
I got way more than three misses
So now I'm waiting for the laws of statistics
So now I'm waiting for my heart's independence
I asked for three wishes
And I don't know if they'll ever be answered
I would have preferred that someone held my wishes for ransom
And I like trying when I know hard work pays off
I was prepared for the battles until my defense went AWOL
I asked for three wishes
And all of them were very explicit
I'm trying to cash in on my blessings hopefully that can fix this
I'm trying to cash in on my blessings, but the angels aren't listening
Did I miss my opportunity even though I was paying attention?
I asked for three wishes
Wondering that they can hopefully relieve my tension
Pondering trying not to get stuck in the intermissions
Giving myself interventions to stop granting my weakness citizenship
I used to be innocent until they couldn't fulfill any of my wishes
