You Don't Know Me

If you don't read, you don't know me.

If you haven't lived a thousand lives

Haven't sighed a thousand sighs

Watched a thousand people die

You can't know me

If you don't read, you don't know me.

If you haven't met a million friends

Lived it up until the end

Felt a thousand hurt hearts mend

You can't know me

If you don't read, you don't know me.

If you haven't fought a million wars

Flown high as the eagle soars

Chosen from a billion doors

You can't know me

If you don't read, you don't know me.

If you haven't wished away your heart

Watched a thousand journeys start

Been there when two best friends part

You cant know me

If you don't read, you don't know me.

If you haven't hiked a thousand trails

Exchanged a thousand fireside tales

Listened to the storm wind's wails

You can't know me
