You Could Lose Your Youth Writing This

Traumatized

Shaking, Crying

not leaving home

because the nightmares keep following you

Keys in your fist

Pepper Spray in the other

running through the darkness

because you can’t be found thrown in a dumpster

Skipping school

Faking headaches with the nurse

begging your parents to let you stay home

because you’re not safe at school anymore

Breakdowns

Anxiety-ridden, Stressed out

children killing themselves

because the world is too much

No money

No jobs, thousands in debt

angry

Because we are not being taken seriously

I am broken

Every thought on the table

I lost my youth writing this

because I can’t handle these things anymore
