You caused it
My misery,
You caused it.
The dull ache in my bones
You caused it
My inability to bond,
You caused it,
My hatred
my angst
My pain
You caused it
My song
You caused it
My art
You caused it
My laughter
My happiness
My bittersweet regret
You caused it
You threw me from the nest and tried to snatch me back.
But I slipped through the cracks in your fingers and became free.
I hover just outside of reach
Sending reminders of me to you barren home.
Not as a taunt but as a gift of gratitude
Because, the fullness of my life,
You caused it.
