You can't help anyone

You can't change the world this way

You can't help anyone

Stop talking as though the world is working against you

The only one against you is yourself

You think I'm shallow

A product of my consumerist life

No thoughts past what I should wear

What I should buy

Or what I need to do to be liked

But the truth is I'm stronger than you

I'm better than you now

I've spent so long in your shadow

I've spent so long being the lesser

You are the pretty one

The smart one

The confident

Happy

Sister

And I have always been behind you

But no more

All the love you have received

While I have been ignored

It's turned against you

It's morphed itself into your own self-loathing

Your insecurity

Pain

And depression

You blame the world

You blame our parents

You blame the system

You don't blame yourself

You can't change the world this way

You can't help anyone
