You Asked If You Could Kiss Me

Thu, 10/26/2017 - 16:49 -- Jaybird

The first day we met

You asked if you could sit beside me

You didn't move 'till I said yes

A few months later

You asked if we could study

You didn't get out books 'till I said yes

A few months later

You asked me if you could take me out to lunch

You didn't pressure me to say yes

A while after that

You asked if you could hold my hand

You didn't touch me 'till I said yes

When I turned red

You asked if it was still okay

Ready to let go if I didn't say yes

A little bit after that

You asked if you could kiss me

I froze, and blushed, and smiled

But you didn't move 'till I said yes

When I asked why you kept asking

You asked if you could tell me something

When I said yes, you told me

"Because I love you"
