You Are Enough

I find my worth

In worthless things

That have no hope, no home.

I look to the world

To find what makes me

Who I Am.

I look to who the world says

I should want to be.

I know those whispers are lies

But they are too easy to believe:

Be Skinny

No be Thick,

Be Short

No be Tall,

Have blue eyes

No have brown,

Be Perfect

No be Unattainable.

But I know there is one place

Where Someone declares Who I Am.

That Someone tells me things I have never heard before

Things that are harder to believe:

I am Beautiful

I am Beloved

I am Found

I am Cherished.

Ever since I have found that Someone

Those thoughts swirl in my mind.

Sometimes they are hard to believe

But that Someone draws me close again,

And whispers

You Are Enough.
