You and I

I will always remember your bright laugh

The day we fly apart from each other

Like tiny glass birds flying to the sun.

The memories we shared will yet remain

Inscribed in my heart to my dying breath.

You stood by as I watched my world shatter,

And you held me up when I fell apart.

And so my last wish before we withdraw

Is that you will always remember me

As I was when sunlight was my best friend,

When happiness was around the corner,

And we were tied together by friendship.

For as long as there is light in this world,

You will be my happiest memory.
