The Yin to Her Yang

Tue, 04/12/2016 - 19:29 -- M.E.

She is the war,

the carnage in my head,

who speaks with bullets of lead

and erects barbed wire fences.

I am the rain,

who settles down her rage

and drowns out the fight

of her unnecessary plight.

I am her daughter

and she is my mother.

We both bear our struggles,

like Atlas,

on our shoulders—

but she is Aries and

I am Aquarius,

where her ferocity

is felt in my voice and

my tranquility

is a part of her silence.
