Yaldabaoth's Pet

Location

Walked on a leash,

Forced through a fog,

In a dark, dim forest,

Crying a sob.

Walked on a leash,

Wanting my prey.

 My owner has trapped me,

Has walked me away.

To bark, to catch, to tear up the couch

To run around inside the house.

I long to be free,

Yet I am trapped,

In a world against me.

Walked on a leash,

Needing time to think,

Yet my owner says, "Go!"

And intimidated, I shrink.

Walked on a leash,

In a dark, dark fog!

No more squirrels to chase

And no more logs to scratch.

I am confused.

Why am I here stuck on the leash

And trapped by Fate - away from Home with my true friends?

Stuck on a leash,

Confused in a fog.

Trapped by my leash,

Though I'm not a dog.
