XX Chromosome

I've never had a boy slip his hand up

my skirt, for good reason too

because

he would now be without it. "no"

was the first word out of my mouth and I'll

be damned if I don't

use it now. I live in a house where

being a woman is the

norm to that of a man, those

that dwell in it quake in

their boots from our presence. We don't

swallow lecherous gropes

with a small smile, we pull out our battle

gear and make the sorry

bastard who gazed upon us plead

for mercy. We women are synonymous with strength, we

come from the loins of XX DNA

that was once before us. We're not sex toys,

we ARE sex. We're the kiss on your

cheek at the end of the night and

we're the slap in the face

when you wolf-whistle at us in poor attempt

to convey our beauty. I will not melt

as that of a candle when

a man calls me his pet, instead I'll

put a collar around his neck

and parade him around

as the animal he is.
