Writing

When I put my pen on paper,

everything else falls away.

I'm in my own utopia,

where there is no night and day.

Once I start, it's hard to stop,

my hands keep movin’ round the clock.

Imagination keeps me goin’,

I'm always ready to write and rock.

I thank my family for this passion,

it all started with a few books.

Now, I find myself obsessed,

as they pull me closer with their hooks.

When the words start to flow,

I hurriedly jot them down.

They could be about anything,

a feminist hero or ghost town.

I'm not big on grammar,

my vocabulary is not that vast.

But, honestly, I don't care,

because, to me, writings a blast!
