The World Took My Parents

In a world full of manipulation
discrimination, and accusations
one can only have
Determination
to avoid tribulation
conform to society
day in day out
petrified to speak up and be counted
your everyday worker
that three to twelve
working for the cost of living
only were not living
just surviving
when does it end
putting in hard work
missed dance recitals
birthdays too
a little relation would be nice
but who?
Will work that
Three to twelve
to make society function as it do
I'm not asking for
the weight of the world
lifted off my shoulders
I'm just saying
if i could change one thing
I'd want my parents
To be there for my next
dance recitals
birthday too
don't have to tuck me in at night
but
I'd at least
want to see you
