A World in Chaos

A World in Chaos

A silent plague of darkness imprisons the world inside a tomb,

Black ravens dispatch upon four corners, signaling impending doom.

Mankind departs from its conscience - without pity nor concern.

Smoke fills the putrid air as thousands of corpses burn.

Fellow countrymen have no compassion - exploding into fits of rage.

Hundreds of Brown children remain locked in sanctioned cages.

The screams of a Black man reverberates around the globe,

The stories of countless others remain silent and untold.

Outcries for equal justice are met with disdain and violence,

Scores of diverse races soldier on - refusing to be silenced.

Humanity has become scarce - some question if it was ever there.

Cruelty seems to be the new order as the world drowns in its tears.

If this calamity was a test then we have miserably failed - for the

tribulations looming ahead will not be easy to curtail.

The strength of a great nation relies upon unity during turmoil - embracing

our differences as the plague ravages our soil.

The promise of rejuvenation is just within reach - for beyond the dark shadows

and billowing smoke,

Out on the horizon lies a beacon of hope.
