By the World

Location

the thoughts

in my head

are whirling

in a washer

of dirty laundry.

they are agitated

around and around

making lots

of sounds

in my mind.

they bang and bang

clang, clang, clang,

wanting terribly

to be let out.

they can be said

out loud to the world

with fanfare and pomp

but they are only

guttural utterances

for a world

uninterested.

thoughts must be heard

primarily by us

our own individual

mus wet understand

what whimsically

whistles up there.

do we really

understand

those noises

we make?

can we even

fathom without

the written word?

we cannot.

we cannot understand

what we want

ourselves to hear

without writing

a written word.

writing it out

is the only way

one can

truly hear

and

understand

words.

once we

have seen

our thoughts

then

and

only

then

can they be

heard

by the world.
