Words are for the Living

Bones in the ground

Once filled with marrow

Longing for movement

Yearning to feel

Lifeless bones

Previously home to laughter and memories

Covered in darkness

No longer a friend

Calcium fingers, calcium toes

Full of secrets

Woven with stories

Anxious to enlighten

Loved one listen with no sound

Tears for silence

Tales untold

Never to be spoken here on Earth

Six feet under, bones in the ground

Urge us to speak

For we never know

When our mouths will be shut forever
