I open my mouth with words ready to express
All that escapes are jagged chokes that fade into the atmosphere.
She verbally slaps me with those same chokes
He glares at me with his once warm eyes.
I fall to the floor as I am continued to be beat down.
My own wall is being torn down piece by piece.
It's foundation was not strong enough, just as I am.
Heart inside rips open with every sob I can muster.
Time continues to pass, I am slowly fading.
The insults and beatings have now stopped and been forgotten.
But in my room I open my tear stained book,
With trembling, calloused fingers I grasp my pencil.
As like every day before this, I write what my chokes could not explain.
This book understands and listens.
