Words

Letters spin

Inside my mind

Jumbled words

Jumbled lives

Questions wrap

Around my throat

Choking me

Stealing hope

Intangible tidbits

Philosophical babble

Does anyone know

Why we’re here?

Does it matter?

I’m just a girl

With a pen

And some paper

Nothing more than

A diction crusader

Hoping to stumble

On something profound

Trying to keep

My feet on the ground

Words make me happy

Words bring me peace

Words take the clutter

And make it complete

I get tongue tied

Face-to-face

And small talk

Makes my fingers shake

But give me patience

Give me time

I’ll write you a song

A story that rhymes

I’ll tell you my secrets

And all that I know

If you let me speak

In the language of prose
