Words

Pen to paper

Ink to surface

Simple characters scratch the edge

Then plunge their silver dagger into open hearts

Changing lives with the flick of a wrist

Unknown impact of unknown origin

Break my heart and rebuild it again

Bleeding, smiling, holding my hand

Crying, laughing, making me stand

A circle of life on one hallowed page

A purpose unfolds within one simple tale

Broken and mended, hidden and revealed

Taken and return, carved into our minds

They echo and stay, etched into the sky

Words are magic that even mortals can summon
