Wonderful Rhinoceros

Wed, 09/16/2020 - 08:57 -- Nomad1c

The wonderful rhinoceros
grazing and chewing cud
may seem quite strong to all of us
but he's merely flesh and blood.

While flesh and blood are weak and frail
and susceptible to disease
the rhino seems to never fail
from his horn down to his knees.

His feet may catch on jagged stone
and cause a snorted breath
but it's best to leave him well alone
like a ram up on a cleft.

A rhinos day is lazy
as he trudges to and fro
but he'd guide around that daisy
rather than trample it below

There are lessons to be easily learned
from powers less than he
but mankind's usually quick to spurn
and reject their own humanity.
