Who am I?
My voice is heard.
My fists stand high for my country.
I was once shot down for bearing a child and having bosoms that can feed.
I was thought as of object or a symbol of sex.
Being walked all over because my words did not matter?
I think not.
The 19th amendment has saved my voice.
I no longer stand silent in a crowded room.
I am black, I am white.
I am short, I am tall.
I am fat, I am skinny.
But most of all I am heard.
For once I am heard.
I am heard not for what I wear or whether my body is not the same as mans.
I am heard for myself.
I am listened to because I speak the words that were dare not acknowledge before.
I stand tall and proud for everyone that walked before me.
I am a women.
