Without You

The feelings I hold inside

Are hard for me to share

I just keep them in my mind

But trust me I really do care

I keep running away from where I am

People don’t see why I can’t sit still

I’m hiding behind words and my camera

They don’t know I understand how they feel

The child inside of me

Is still crying out for you

But you can’t even see

And I can’t see it through

Labels are just binding thoughts

That emerge when you want to be separate

I was the only one who fought

And they think life is all birthday cake

Standby lights flashing in my eyes

Crying out for something to hold to

I don’t believe that you told me lies

Just don’t go to deal with the coup

Sunny days, ice cream and fries

But it comes to nothing without you
