Without The Spirit

James 2:26

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Flesh without the Spirit

(a timezone between the OT and the NT)

For four hundred years without revelation

All this time understanding based on self

Slowly changing into self-glorification

Like a thief in the night, I know this well

A few days in the present without meditation

No personal relationship impressed in your life

Then to hide in self-made vague intimidation

That religion brings when you put godliness aside

A day, a week and a year make changes slowly

It paints only a finger then corrupts the hand

It is then used to rise above the lowly

Until all of them appear like a ragged band

When the Lord walks up to you only see a vagrant

Someone who is not good enough to fit in your life

You’re now much better than the wandering pagans

That you so classified in your fading insight

All who not reason alike you become as filth

They don’t know purity and can’t see how to manage

A worthless lot that my religion should kill

Until only the ones like me rule this planet

Pharisee and Sadducee, Islamite and me

Walking on a highway that leads to destruction

Thinking we’re right and singing we’re free

As we rush through existence without perfection
