Without Debt

I write off this debt with one last check,

Your walls became a personal chamber

To choke on your words and dream of something better

To speak up and hear only silence

To look into your eyes and not see mine

Our home caved and I fell through the cracks of  your hands

Caught drowning in an hourglass

I found a rope labeled grace

Desperately—I pulled and landed in someone else’s arms

The nightmares of our reality slowly disappeared

I began to live inside the dream

My days became full, my light became bright,

Only through His hands have I been able to let go of this fight.
