Wish

Stars up above

Upon which hang wishes

Of young children

Old folks

And perhaps even

The occasional

Starstruck lover

Dreams of something

Even better

Than what you have

Wishes are secret desires

That you yearn to make real

A fantasy with rainbows

And beautiful skies

With jewels and riches

An adventure to happen

A blooming red rose

A lovely want

For something that

Is out of this world

Perhaps it feels alien

But does it feel special

Something that feels

Close to your heart

It sort of seems surreal

But oh so real

At the same time

Beautiful words

That the soul speaks

That the mouth

Is unable to speak

Your spirit aches

But it mutters this

All the time

And when fulfilled

You feel like you could

Just jump off and fly.
