Wisdom

Location

we begin young and green

no knowledge of mean

curiosity keen

it killed the cat

but taught us that

the stove gets hot

the fridge does not

and as we get older

we learn to be bolder

we blossom and grow

no knowledge of slow

and we learn and we learn and we learn

we make our mistakes

life came with no brakes

no instruction no guide

we take it in stride

we falter we stumble

our world it crumbles

we learn our worst features

from the harshest of teachers

but we see new light

and it lessens our plight

our flaws our cracks our scars

tell stories as broken as stars

but shimmering still

and with powerful will

we learn from our past

this pain does not last

and we learn and we learn and we learn

beautiful people are products of life

they did not arise free of strife

we are wise from our choices

our words and our voices

we are true from our lies

our screams and our cries

life bruises and batters

and all of it matters

because we learn, and we learn, and we learn
