Winter of the Heart

Mon, 09/26/2022 - 12:03 -- mrHenny

God is with you.

It doesn’t matter how you feel

It doesn’t matter where you are

Your situation is irrelevant

God is with you.

In pleasant times it’s easy to see that

To give thanks and enjoy that

To find peace and gratitude,

Though life isn’t a straight path

God is with you.

Even when the path curves

When the pleasantries cease

And the happiness cripples

When your soul is weak

And begging for the good times

God is with you.

His hand on your shoulder while you weep

When the thoughts of your past haunt tonight’s dreams

You may not see him then

But He’s there, like He’s always been

God is with you.

He’s your only hope in this wretched world

Ask Him for strength and your tides will turn

Troubles still there, but now beatable

Demons still there, but now vulnerable

God is with you.

He’ll give you the blade to cut down your pain

With His wisdom and drive, never again will you break

God is with you.

Moving towards you

And giving you the strength

To outlast the Winter of the Heart
