Winter Days

Oh how greatly I hate the winter days

So long, and cold, and void of all ardor

It makes me feel so numb, so very dazed

My feelings in disarray and disorder

It feels as if I've lost the upper hand

My emotions have turned against myself

It seems to me as if I have been damned

For I there never will be any help

The anxious feelings always come in sweeps

My hands, they shake; my breathing is unsteady

And into the rest of my life it leaks

I wish my defenses were more sturdy

But maybe if I really try and hope

I can finally be free of this saprobe
