Winter

Tiredness seeps into weary bones;

Snow lies thick upon the untrodden road;

But neither that nor warmly lit homes;

Feel like a jackpot or a treasure-full trove;

Thick tendrils of ice wrap around cold hearts;

Tears freeze like glass and chilled breathe turns to snow;

Memories in deep red tear souls apart;

Winter is the season life dares not grow;

Time slows and yields to another mistress;

Hearts grow cold, eyes hard, body old, and mind numb;

Feelings of nothing apart from distress;

Will age the mind, and leave the body young;

Winter will end, but you feelings will not;

Snow will melt, but your heart remains in a knot.
