Winter

Winter

I've known winter,

I've known white powdered snow and shimmering ice.

Where ornate carvings are etched on each individual snowflake.

I've  flown down snow covered hills in sleds when i was young and wild.

I've caught snowflakes on my tounge and watched them melt into nothingness.

I've looked upon majestic mountains and marveled their beauty.

I've heard the whisper of the wind through the emerald trees as the sun sets fire to the heavens while sinking into an unseeing abyss as the supple pit pat of snow resting on the dusky evergreens dawns the arrival of the lusterous silken blanket of night that carresses us in a cradle of sleep.

I've known winter,

Frosty white winter.

My heart beats to the breeze and the snow that swirls around me in winter.
