Wilting Flowers

Graduation came around

the day You were found

on the ground.

I felt like I was flying

but then I saw You were crying,

dying.

There was something about the way

I could not find the words to say

goodbye

but I knew I had to try.

I came to encounter

a vase full of roses on the counter.

Wilting,

tilting

towards the floor.

I wish I could have done more,

but my heart still remains sore

over the wilting flowers, You left me on graduation day.
