Why me?

Matthew 4:4

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

When your lips run over your cup drains quickly …

Why me?

Why do I write this way? Life is so good for me.

Why does disarray in thought keep me in its hold?

Why does my mind pour out on these slips of paper

at times bypassing my heart ... like I am oversold?

It is said and proven ... as the mouth runs over quickly

The heart’s “fullness” ... needs than not to be mentioned.

What makes my pen scribble ... when the mind runs for cover

Into its selected parts ... where “the call” screams intervention.

Maybe what is written ... will be washed away.

Maybe what is given ... will last forever

Maybe what we have ... will call on that day

as for certain all of us ... will slip into the ever.
