Why i wake up

Is knowing i’ll see my friend

My soulmate

My platonic wife.

Why i wake up

Is because i have to

Because life goes on without me

And i need to be there to live it.

Why i wake up

Is to read all the good books

To become another person

And live their life for a time.

Why i wake up

Is to make someone happy

Whether it be with a hug

Or a simple “hey how are you”.

Why i wake up

Is to see the sunrise

To know that i exist

And life is not pointless.
