Why do people live? A limerick

“Why do people lie?” the young girl said

Fore lies formed a tizzy in her little head

I pondered why truth

More common in youth

Would fall less important in life ahead

“The truth is too hard,” I said skeptically

“That’s stupid” the youth said with levity

Such bluntly put fact

Had urgent impact

Maybe age adds merely complexity

Fore the young girl was right

Deceptions harsh smite

Could be avoided,

So she was appointed

To lead the truthful acts fight

“Honesty’s the best policy” she preached

With juvenile words my sheltered heart unleashed

I called up my mother,

My sister and brother,

And claimed my sinful words impeached

I called my school teacher,

My best friend, the preacher,

Thats how I start

My change of heart

Honesty my most prominent feature

And now, here we stand

Her small hand in my hand

Spreading our logic

That lies are a toxic

Unjust act we cannot withstand

So take this to bed;

Put on your small head

And be a true child

Let yourself smile

Let dishonesty be dead
