Who will go farther?

Location

There are things teacher never teach you,Like how to be yourself.I was never taught to be different, while others remained the same.I was never taught that the cost of clothes didn't matter and that life was never fair.I was never taught that helping others was a great thing and highschool was a bear.Teachers never taught me to follow your heart, and be kind and to care. But maybe it's not school teachers that really matter, they're all robots anyways.Memorizing facts and repeating them every class, I've heard the same thing for ten years now, butThe real teachers are the people in life who teach you certain lessons about yourself. My sister teaches me it's okay to be different .My mother teaches me it's okay to cry.My father teaches me sometimes you have to be as hard as a nail. And the best teacher of all, would be myself.I taught myself to be who I am, and always stand up for what I believe In.And I believe school teachers should teach us to be eccentric, to be unique, and to shine. School is memorization, and who can memorize the best. But who will go farther; the one who stays true to themselves and learns to keep a promise, or the one that remembers the hurricane of  '78 and all the 50 states?
