Who Are You?

I am not perfect
But I have identified my flaws
I have bipolar disorder
I have depression
But I do not let it control me
I am Passionate
I am loving
But I can be spiteful towards those who hurt the people I care for
I am out spoken yet open minded
I enjoy hearing other people’s opinions
But I will research the topic before I choose a stance
I refuse to be main stream
I will think for myself
Even if it’s not accepted
I love to learn
I will forever be in the pursuit of knowledge
But what happens when I’m disliked?
Who are they to tell me how to think
Who are they to label me
Who are they to mock mental instability
What makes them think that it’s okay to hurt others
What ridiculous sense of entitlement do they think they posses
I have cried in the shower so the water would muffle the sounds
I have been on the brink of losing myself entirely
I shed blood, sweat, and tears to get where I am today
I have learned who I am by piecing myself together after being torn apart by other
This is who I am
Who are you?

This poem is about:
Our world
