This poem is about:
My community
Guide that inspired this poem:

A white pecked fence feeling closed in, sheltered in , boxed in. A white pecked fence of something thats not reality. A neighborhood of perfection and a mentatility of what's so called perfect on the outside.Very quiet. alot of surrounding me but making me feel as if i dont fit into their white pecked fence. Im just ablack girl , a girl with no name, who lives in a neighborhood full of shame, knowing that i , the black girl who doesnt speak a damn thang. I will never be in their white pecked fence. Beautiful two story houses , but families that struggle to keep them. Is this picture really so perfect or beautiful? Ive had both too having too much now which is less? A White pecked fence i once didn't have. My mother was once behind a fence ,but full of bars, feeling closed in, boxed in, just like me, so innocent. just a victim..nine months how much i missed her.
