I AM FROM take off, turbulence, and jet lag,
From traveling every summer,
Between the countries of U.S. and China.
I am from one part of the world,
Where there are picture-perfect homes,
Green lawns, litter-free sidewalks, and a big house to live in.
Then, I am from halfway across the world,
When seeing poverty is the norm,
Small, cramp homes, traffic-filled roads, and polluted air.
But no matter where I visit,
I am from the home cooked meals,
And laughter wherever I went.
But most importantly, I am from hope, faith, and love,
Given from my family and friends,
And through it all, I’ll never forget where I AM FROM.
