Where I'm From

Where I’m from
is who I am.
Red brick,
white wood,
chlorine and sand.
Library books,
bedtime stories,
Brown Bear and a red dog.
These things are
where I’m from.
Out for the summer.
Offsides in the fall.
Free throws with winter.
On deck during spring.
These phrases are
where I’m from.
A storytelling mother,
a science-loving dad,
an athletic little brother.
These people are
where I'm from.
Where I’m from
is who I am.
