Where Do God's Tears Gather?

Where do God’s tears gather,

when he weeps for you?

His lost child,

that collects the shards of their soul

and slings his rusty chains over a scarred shoulder,

the same shoulders that crack and ache

from the weight of the world.

Where do his tears gather

for your lost innocence,

as you cry on wet earth?

The same earth that feeds and breathes life,

now cradles you in this little death,

and where the sound of music

has gone silent to listen

to your tears.

Where can his tears gather

that could hold such a surplus

of empathy?

For you, little child, that had happiness,

only to have it ripped away

so quick,

so, unbearably, quick

that it only leaves you empty.

What could ever hold such a burden?

Such a waterfall,

of a God who can only watch,

but wants to instead hold,

to comfort,

to cherish.

Why…

They gather in the earth's soil,

the deep chasms and

the darkened crevices,

the abyss of the world.

And they join together,

not one left out,

not one that takes away,

not one thats wayward or forgotten.

And in those tears,

the pain,

the sadness,

...is Life.

Where the mother whale

and her calf’s cries echo,

it feeds the hungry fish,

and occupies the shark.

The seaweeds sway to its song,

the starfish takes comfort

in its cool caress,

and the dolphins play

in its joyful waves.

God’s tears gather here,

In the shade of deep blue,

so calming,

so soft,

that one can’t help but think…

how beautiful.
