You sticks and stones .
may break my bones,
Your words may at first
Hurt me,

But When United We Stand,
Hand in Hand:
We stand together as equals.

although not all of us were alive during the active civil rights movement here in the states many of us know what to a point they were experiencing. Although we sometimes hate to admit it, most all of us have come up against adversity, discrimination, and hard times in our lives, myself included. I have been cast out of a lot of groups and lost many friends because news flash I am not cookie cutter by any means,,,and thats ok. This poem is for all of us out there either struggling or now at peace with ourselves. Let this poem motivate and inspire you to realize it is only a matter of time for ignorance can only last so long in the face of good will, as long as you continue to be you eventually the walls will break down and you will face no more opposition. Just keep that in mind.
