When They Told Me

Mon, 08/18/2014 - 17:28 -- AmyyyyK

When they told me

you were gone,

a cold hand

stilled my heart.

When they told me

you were gone,

a hard, heavy foot

stomped the air from my lungs.

When they told me

you were gone,

pain gripped my whole body,

making me double over.

When they told me

you were gone,

a slideshow played,

showing my last moments with you.

When they told me

you were gone,

the world disappeared,

leaving me alone and without you.

When they told me

you were gone,

I wondered if this was how you felt

when you left me.
