When They See Us

When they see us

They don’t see human but only our color

When they see us

They don’t care, that we’re someone mother, father, sister or brother

When they see us

They see us as the most dangerous animal out, roaming the streets

When they say us

We’re told not to move, if so, shots fired, now we’re under 6 feet

When they see us

They see thugs, gangs, nothing but violence

When they see us

They don’t see equality, there don’t hear our voice, our words to them is nothing but silence

When they see us

They don’t see us having a future but more like a stat

When they see us

They hate us but kill so hard just to be black

When they see us

They see a way to make us feel less than, as if we’re nothing to be

But when I see us

I see nothing but power & knowledge, that originated from true kings & queens
