When Life is Hard

People will complain about that which troubles them

People will wish for a life with less misfortune

People will wonder why they're faced with hardship

And will ask why it is them that alone must suffer.

What people don't realize, however

Is that they have it pretty good

They're not living in the streets

Nor do they go through life never being loved.

And for those who don't have a home

Those that grew up unwanted and alone

They're not battling terminal illnesses

Nor are they incapable of moving how they please.

Because there are people in this world

Who never complain about that which troubles them

That lay on their hospital bed with a smile on their face

Grateful for the days they've been lucky enough to live.

Happy for all of the moments they can have

Be it good times and bad

For every day that they are on Earth

Is reason enough to smile.

Is reason enough to live life when life gets tough.
