when fears come knocking

fear is a trivial concept

our frail minds twist and turn our experiences to sculpt mighty monsters before us

upon closer inspection, however, these monsters are merely a popcicle stick model stuck together with glue

we terrify ourselves with visions of failure and monsters but in reality

all it takes to overcome fear is

resilience

yet somehow, as frail as they are, fears are nearly impossible to defeat

I have many fears in life, too many to share

however, I have experienced enough to know that my biggest fear is still a work in progress

for when the mind is beaten down to a pulp with insults and blame, it never quite takes shape in the same way again

despite this, I have been overcoming my fears, day by day, week by week

the shades i’ve put up on the windows bring me some security, as well as the privacy settings on my social outlets

but when the monsters come knocking at your window, it’s hard to forget
